Mrs Butler Unique Switchplates ~ The Perfect Gift for Someone with Electricity
Mrs Butler Unique Switchplates was born in 2000, when two of my daughters moved into a nice apartment with "bad" switchplates. I had the idea to use laminated artwork to cover blank steel plates for their walls. Colorful & unique patterns became one of their dearest pieces of artwork.
Lisa & Sheree invited a few friends to a housewarming party... there about 50 people there who kvelled about the switchplates. Kvelled is a Jewish word that means happy and proud... "my mom was kvelling—bursting with pride"
Believe it or not, the kvelling led to sales… and friends of friends sales… and relatives of friends sales... A business was born.
Starting with approximately a dozen unique designs, one thing led to another & in 2016, Mrs Butler now handcrafts over 1,500 unique designs. We felt it was important to use many configurations to style a room... toggles, rockers, outlets, blanks, cables & combinations. We have 27 configurations. We adjust designs to "fit" the openings.
We've carefully labeled each design number ending with an A or B to "match" a single design... both the image A’s represent a specific image - e.g. a camera - B matches the A, but just the matching background without the image. The concept of Mix 'n Match opened up new territory for shoppers.
